• Inverted minors : vertically challenged players, or ones young in age, who prefer upside down signals
• Top table : one that is usually occupied by the leading players, who expect VIP treatment and preferential waiter service
• Positive response : a favourable reply ( your place or mine ) to your come-on signals
• Negative response : the most common response to out-of-the-blue jump bids, especially from lady players with either reputations to protect, or possesing rather prudish and inhibited dispositions.
