KITCHEN BRIDGE UPDATE...................................................( By Professor Hu Chi ku Chi ) Back in early September I did a post on " kitchen bridge", in which Stourbridge BC was mentioned as most likely place where this term originated. This was in 1932 , when the club's early membership consisted of only cooks and culinary experts. Well, not much has changed over the last 77 years, since members today still persist in using kitchen-basted vocabulary, when flinging insults at each other across the tables. One recent incident was reported in the Stourbridge Chronicle as shown below: ................................................................. As one pair were leaving the table a sad looking South turned to his partner admitting " what a terrible hash I made of that......". But before he could finish the sentence his frustrated partner replied " no doubt a concoction of scrambled brains, half-baked ideas, all added of course to an exceptionally thick stock ".
